well looking at mygeckos book a blue tailed gecko is normally 6 inches wich would make it a medium sized gecko and it is delicate. I would say a 30 gal would probably be good for just 1 cuz day geckos need alot of place to clip and hide. On mixing species i wouldnt do that with day geckos cuz they are territoral and they can kill the other species and have been know to kill their tank mates also. but if ur looking for a small species i would go for the Neon(yellow headed) or lined and some good ones that are a little bigger are the peacock and gold dust day geckos.
