Posted by: jodscovry at Sun Apr 30 11:55:40 2006 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by jodscovry ] No don't heat the whole room... in fla the winter temps are never less than the typical hibernation temps required for most herps around the world. and tough they will need heat I would use a under tank pad on a day night timer in an isolated corner of each enclosure so your animales can move around to regulate their own body temp. heating the entire room will cause fatigue and stress. I have also found as a eastern coachwhip breeder that your snakes will do better in captivity if they can view the outdoors through a door or window during the day, I belive it keeps them sane as most people have very bad luck with adult wild cought coachwhips I have 3 pairs and all are wild cought and all eat and breed, do to the discoveries I have made in their habitat needs, try it and you'll notice your snakes stay out of their hideboxes and never rub their noses...JB [ Hide Replies ]
