Excited about my Cal King

Well I cleaned out my Cal King's cage and decided to put her on aspen instead of newspaper. She transitioned to it very well. She's been burrowing a lot and appears to even have fallen asleep while making a burrow! I felt so glad to actually stimulate her mind.

She's so smart, she actually gets excited when I open her cage thinking it's feeding time BUT she sniffs my hand before she strikes. She realizes it's me, then goes about and does her business. Anybody else notice signs of intelligence in their Cal Kings? I'm thinking of actually studying how smart Leota (my CK) actually is.

In case you're wondering, she's about three years old.
