I produced a solid brown cal king last year by using a Blizzard.



I also bred a Blizzard to a Mendota last year and got all Mendota looking babies...so the "melanistc/hypermelanistic" gene IS THE SAME gene. I bred a solid brown cal king (that I picked up at a show) to a Mendota this year...and no eggs...so I will have to wait another year on that project....only next year I will use the pure Chocolate male that I produced.



I believe that the Mendota, Davis, Baja, Chocolate Banana and the solid Chocolate cal kings are all THE SAME GENE.
