Since this is the time of year I have been collecting pine needles and using that for substrate. I brumate my snakes in it.
Whenever I take my daughter to the park i fill up a large trash bag with the stuff. It is all over the ground this time of year. Call me chaep but the snakes seem to love it. I have not encontered any problems with it being it is very cold outside and all the bugs have dissapeared. ----- " there is really no such thing as an expert keeper/breeder, but there are those who let the snakes be expert at being snakes."-Frank Retes
