ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what you get for talking on the phone and handling a Brooks! LOL.

It's corny I know and only my opinion. I am only keeping a small collection now. At least TRYING to.

I think there is a natural tendency in this hobby to get carried away.

You get this one nice (whatever). Now you get this other (whatever)

You get this tri color, you have to now get this morph, Oh man I got to get this one. Now I'm going to breed this. Now I need a mate for that. Ok, now I HAVE to grab this group of this. I am going to collect all the subspecies of this.... Etc. After a while your cleaning so many cages, raising your own mice to save money. You barely even spend any time appreciating one animal.

When you start, you have that wide eyed wonder. Everything that snake does is awesome and mysterious to you ,(I know, corny) so different from anything else you've been around. Your tuned into everyhing about it. You can sit there and stare at it for hours. You dream of the terrariums it would look cool in. It's a peek into a foreign world and you didn't even leave the couch. It's living art work that changes as it ages and in different light. Just holding it and letting it glide through your fingers is COOOOOL...

Not to say it's not nice to have many to appreciate. It's just that as they grow in number you can lose the magic, fascination and neatness of the interaction. It's a trade off sometimes. At least it's like that for me. I can't speak for everyone.

Good luck with him and enjoy. Everybody here knows exactly how you feel.

Bob.

Sometimes I think the kid with two pet snakes has something that those of us with 50 to 200 lost a long time ago.
