Yes Blaze is a simple reccessive.
It seems to me that Apalachicola kings (goini, meansi, or whatever) are underappreciated in the hobby. I picked up a pair of '08s (one blotched and one striped -- neither blaze) and they're not only beautiful, they also have great "personalities".
Yes, they are underappreciated. But I think part of the reason is you don't have the mix of morphs to make them really interesting. I saw a table full of Blaze and other goini at the Daytona show in 2008 and after the show they were all still there. Too many people spending their hard earned dollars on a stupid pet rock snake called a Ball Python.
This year I am going to buy some of those Blaze goini just because I like them and they need to be experimented with.
Here are some experiments with goini x Florida kings. To bad the goini has to be basterdized. But you can see where the beauty and the possibilities exist:
Gulf Coast line of lav florida king x goini

lavender and snow sibling

Gulf Coast lav x Blaze breeding

One of my Gulf Coast adults

Stipp line Lavender Florida x goini
