One of the founder mosaic kings came from Edisto Island, but others came from the mainland. Edisto is separated from the mainland by a salt marsh and a very narrow creek, something kingsnakes have no trouble crossing.... there really isn't any insular genetics concentration as there is still gene flow with the mainland.
