Posted by: TerryHeuring at Sun Dec 13 20:45:40 2009 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by TerryHeuring ] The original ruthveni were collected by Dr. William Garska in Quataro Mexico,he also did all of the work to describe them and remove them from the mexicana group.I traded him locale red milks snakes from north Alabama so he could verify them as true red milks.He had been breeding the ruthvens for years.I received a male and two females raised them bred them and produced the first albino tricolors in the hobby.After going back to Dr. Garstka with the albinos we came to the conclusion that one of his two adult males was a het sired by an albino in the wild.Ruthveni being a high mountain kingsnake and spending most of the daylight hours in rock formations an albino could survive in the wild.
