Posted by: JKruse at Wed Feb 3 22:09:56 2010 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by JKruse ] ...just to clarify......parvirubra were being strongly considered back in 1994 as a "species of special concern" due to the geographic location of parvs so near to the foothills of populized areas, thus the coining of the term "urban mountain kingsnake" for San Bernardino parvirubra in particular (as parvs hail from not only the San Berdoos, but also San Jacintos and San Gabriels).....and coupled with the human penchant for reckless abandon when it comes to searching and potential overcollecting, these were nearly lumped in with pulchra. | ||
