I have been considering possibly thinking about looking at the potential of breeding my two Kingsnakes. Not for profit, just to have many babies to care for and watch grow. My female (thayeri X alternus) weighed in today at 209 grams, my male (thayeri) at 189. So, two questions:
1) What is the ideal minimum breeding size for a female Kingsnake? Is it largely based on length or mass?
2) How close in size do the male and female need to be in order minimize potential mate-eating?
Since this is strictly for fun/hobby I am willing to wait as long as it takes until conditions are ideal.
