My 13 year old daughter is basically my herp buddy and accompanies me to the shows we sometimes drive three and four hours to attend. She really wants to go road herping with me, but I am still a bit leary due to the dangers of the roadway I cruise at night. Night time road herpers know jumping out of your car in a desolate and dark roadway can be dangerous with the potential for unexpected traffic and generally poor visibility. That and I fear she may get downright bored LOL!! Still, it has inspired me to invite her next time as she needs to know the pros and cons of field herping and the dangers involved with road cruising. Plus, it may help her connect more with the animals I keep and get beyond the "deli cup herper" mentality. | ||
