It was a horrible run down cinderblock building off Airline Hwy. If anyone has seen that movie with Billy Bob Thornton and Halle Berry (Monster Ball, or something like that), the diner in the movie was actually in LaPlace (the old Airline Highway Diner)and close to the snake farm. Basically out in the boonies back in the day. They had homemade wooden and glass cages upon cages full of corns, ball pythons, colombian boas, whatever they could get, as well as HUGE pits in the floor with large burmese pythons, retics, venomous, etc. I think everything in the place was basically for sale LOL!! I got my first exotic snake there, a ball python, back in 1980 for $45. It was a big adult, likely female, and ONLY ate gerbils LOL!! First time I ever heard of or saw stuff like Haitian boas. They use to have a "per foot" price list back in the day too. [ Hide Replies ]
