"I bought an Indigo for $30 in 1971 from a friend"
Wow Pat, if you were at my house in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. about 1971 or so, you could have scored that GIGANTIC eight and a half or nine footer that I couldn't afford for only $8 dollars.
Ironically, just a couple years ago, I was talking about this to a close friend that I knew in my old neighborhood since 1967 or 68, and he told me that those two kids (one named Jay, the other was Bill) probably stole it from his back yard to sell to me back then. He told me his gigantic monster Indigo was missing from a back yard cage he had about that time, and he also knew about both these kids I told him about..LOL!
When he was telling me all this, I couldn't believe my ears because it was so darn funny to me that this story would actually come about after all these years. We were both laughing our fool heads off about this for a good while too understandably as we sipped our beers under a tree in his front yard in Ft. Pierce. What a small world it seems to be sometimes..LOL!
Imagine a "hot" Indigo for a very affordable price of only $8 in 71 or so. When you figure in the inflation of a dollar now, it still ony translates to about $45 bucks in today's money. Yeah, I'm guessing those dude's only wanted to get rid of that snake real quick for a nickel bag of weed and a few beers..LOL!
