While I understand the effect of telling the landowners that mtn kings keep the rodents and rattlers in check, the reality is probably much less dramatic. I don't think rattlers make up much of their diet. I imagine the zonata take their fair share of nestling/young mice, but the rattlers/gophersnakes are the bigger rodent controllers. The kings are eating lots of lizards...
