one of the NASTIEST bites I have ever seen happened to my buddy when he was showing me his large female blotched king. She was every bit five foot long and thick!! He opened the top and was approaching her from the side and she got his hand and CHOMPED!!! She was very reluctant to let go and it took holding his hand and her head under his bathroom sink faucet before she released. Even though he is quite used to getting bit, he had to admit it was not pleasant LOL!!! I have a four plus foot eastern male in my collection that is not trustworthy and food aggressive. You can open the box and pick him up. But if he smells anything that reminds him of food, LOOK OUT LOL!!! Bottom line, keep em fed well, handle regularly, and absolutely wash your hands well before handling them, or handle them first in your routine. ALL kings are like that. I even had alternas that would chomp down if they smelled other snake on me.
