" The forums need more "difference of opinion" or controversy. Without such, there is no progress. "
Not saying difference of opinion is wrong. Just the way it is being handled.
" At this time, colubrid husbandry has not progressed in decades. "
Sorry, but speak for yourself. Very broad statement that holds no water. You have no idea how each and every person takes care of their animals.
" The point of current husbandry is holding animals and making babies. Thats it. There is no learning about the animals, they do what you tell them or they die. "
Very much agreed!
" The problem is simple, shoebox setups should only be for commerical breeders. Private keepers should keep animals to enjoy the WHOLE reptile experience. As in, the producer and the consumer. "
Why should shoeboxes being used for cags be restricted to commercial breeders?? I do keep my animals in plastic box setups, and I DO enjoy the whole reptile experience. Ask anyone who knows me and my collection. Enjoying the reptile experience is a choice you make upon how you view, learn, and take care of your collection.
