Have you tried feeding i chicks? They are cheaper than mice (.12 cents) and then you can really feed him up.

My experince with snakes that act like that is they are hungry...REAL hungry! So i feed them whatver and whenever and eventually they calm down this agressive feeding behaivior....... Which could stem from prolonged starvation or inadequat meals.
