And let's not forget all the countless "disposable" Iguana babies that are sold to people on a compulsive whim that go on to die a slow agonizing death from neglect and not given their basic needs to thrive such as UV light to properly synthesize vitamin D-3 to prevent things like "rubber jaw" bone disease. Their important diet is also something that is often overlooked too by these buyers and not discussed in any depth by many vendors and shops in order to make a quick sale...
I was very glad to see an Article by Tom Crutchfield in an issue of "Reptiles Magazine" where he addressed this VERY adamantly.
