That's cool isn't it. I notice that when my zonata get close to hatching, I can see through the egg like that sometimes. It lets you get a sneak preview of whats to hatch. The other thing I do is stick a maglite penlite up to the egg during the last few weeks of development and you can see some coils ans how the band pattern is going to look.
