"Meaning no offense to those that do like them but IMO "ugly" comes into play with most things labeled blizzard,snow... and especially those labeled jelly,P.B.,lavender,piebald... again, IMO".
"seconded. i'd rather see an unimpressive wild snake than one whose color/pattern is named after sandwich condiments."
Well your guys'es opinon is the minority.
When the NAME Peanut Butter came out for the new Florida king morph, I asked people ON THIS FORUM to PICK a name and then from sevral suggestion everyone voted on which name should be used. Guess what everyone picked?..That's right,, PEANUT BUTTER. lol!
I had nothing to do with choosing the name. I left it totally up to the forum posters on here.
The situation back then was the name HYPO had already been in use. So to differentiate the common "hypo" designation from this new hypo morph. A new name was to be selected.
In the end I think Peanut butter was the perfect name . because no other morph shares an allele on a single locus like the peanut Butter does with the T negative. So it really ended up be a unique trait. Which deseved a unique name. But the folks on here and muself did not know that it could do that, at that time. LOL!
Hey there are much stranger names in taxonomy. People using their last names to label an animal after themselves. That to me is totally selfish, self centered, self grandizing. ----- www.Bluerosy.com
"its kinda like your model builders that work from a kit, if you follow the instructions, its suppose to come out well. Unfortunately, snakes are alive and all manner of things can go wrong, at any time for a million reasons. The truth is, most of those reasons are NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR KIT(husbandry recipe) that you get over the internet. Those are the fun things you get to learn on your own.
Its like you folks think your perfect. Well how you judge that is not what you think, but your results. They tell you how good you did. And that means, past tense. As each and every time you do it, your can succeed or fail. There are no guarantees, no matter how much you know. You must apply your knowledge, each and everytime, and each and everytime the results are a measure of your ability and effort. "
