Yep...it does seem that Mex Mex, Thayeri and Ruthveni females are "dirtier" looking than males......Maybe it has something to do with camo......



There are two other dimorphic differences with Mex Mex that I've noticed. Males obtain an overall larger size than females.



And.... The "high saddled" ones are always females. But not all females have high saddles. Plus this observation has only held true with classic Mex Mex....not with the granite mutation.....



I think Bob Hansen hatched out a normal male this year with some high saddles too.......Which would be a first for me over the last 18 years of working with Mex Mex.
