Doug, I think there is a certain selection bias when it comes to red in Florida. A lot of people select for hatchlings with the most red, so we end up with lines that produce more and more red Florida kings.
Last year I bred the same male brooksi to 2 different females. One clutched ended up being predominantly high red, while the other ended up with no red at all! I actually preferred the no-red clutch. More unique in my eyes, and I think they'll grow up brighter and cleaner than the red hatchlings. ----- www.brooksi.com
