I'm reluctant to use the heat tape, for several reasons, but I have never had a problem with the warm room technique. I do get a slight temp drop at night, which is normal. Foe choices I give them plenty of levels, and hides, and moist hides. I've been able to breed a wide variety of colubrids this way from Corns to Kings, even Thayeri/Ruthvens. This year I should have several Alterna breeding. Right now I have the heat off and the room is at the coolest end of my house, so it's getting naturally cycled light and temps. | ||
