That really ticks me off to see that.
That snake is most likely not going to make it, if it isn't dead already.
Do you have the correct address for that store? If so, call the local animal control for that area, and report this immmediately.
No excuse for that whatsoever.

I do think that it looks like a Southern pine snake.
Unbelievable.

They should look like this, not that:
