John I think your assesment of the origins of the Granite line are probably true. I hesitate to call mine granites until further breeding proves it out. Plus if the Galvan's line pre-dates the European line it may not have ever been selectively bred like the European line and it may take a few generations to bring it out in the Galvan snakes. Hopefully time will tell.
