These are a pair I just got from my friend Ryan in San Diego. The big one is a female and based on word of mouth it's supposedly a pure Lloyd Lemke bloodline animal. There's no real way to verify that but there's also no reason to suspect otherwise. It is definately a true "black phase" IMHO.



The male, which is the smaller specimen pictured here, is also a Lemke line animal, since he was produced by Ryan from the same trio which included the female pictured here. I was able to see Ryan's adult trio in person since he lives right near my parents house and I got to pick up the pair in person while I was visiting my parents. All three of Ryan's adults(2.1) are true black phases.



I was real excited to get these because Lloyd Lemke was the first big reptile breeder I ever dealt with when I first started getting into breeding snakes in the early 90's. Actually the first snakes I got from Lloyd were a pair of San Luis Potosi Kings and a pair of Pueblan Milks but I sold or traded them off a long time ago. I have regretted that for a long time and since Lloyd passed away several years ago(R.I.P.) it's been very hard to locate any pure Lemke line animals of any sort. I also remember Lloyd telling me while he was alive that he had some wild caught and F1 breeder mex mex in his collection but there's no way to know if this pair I have comes from them. But they look like true mex mex to me and I think they're awesome. I hope the small male I have pictured here will grow up to be a black phase, I think he will. This year he's too small to breed so, as I said in my previous post of the Galvan mex mex, I'm going to breed this black female to the Galvan male and hopefully next year I can do Galvan to Galvan and Lemke to Lemke pairings.
