" I thought the light phase (brooksi) was restricted to South Fl."

Well, it is true that basically the lighter phenotypes with extremely thin, very high-count cross-bars are far more commonly found in south Florida, but there are still similar types that are very light and/or yellow found elsewhere in Florida too.

Many years ago it was thought they were found ONLY in south Florida, but have since been discovered in several places throughout the Florida peninsula by Krysko and several others.
