I'm not an expert on this, but dusting lightly on the mouses rump should be enough. From what I understand it's about making sure the female has good calcium levels in her blood stream Calcium also effects muscle tone. There's no 100 guarantees, but it should help. Especially if when you realize that she is using her calium to develop eggs. Make sure she has a good laying site well in advance also, so she can get used to it. Observe her and notice if she seems to like it. I have a female Honduran which spends all her time behind the nest box, so I laid some moist spagnum back there for her. I strongly suspect that's where she will eventually lay her eggs. Once you are sure she is gravid, remove the male, so he doesn't continue to pursue her, and wear her out.
