Just days after he hatched he developed an infection in his mouth that caused his head to swell. It looked like mouth rot, even though he hadn't even eaten his first meal. He was in a freshly cleaned tub, and fresh chips, and water. I cleaned his mouth daily with a solution of listerine, and Iodine. Using a Q-tip I applied the solution, and scrubbed his gums, until the white cheesy puss was removed. I was afraid he would be so traumatized by the whole ordeal, that he would stress and die. Well, I'm glad to report that the infection is gone, and he has eaten several meals, and seems to be fine. The only evidence of the trauma is a bit of a scar on his head from the swelling, but I'm sure that will disappear in time. I'm glad this little guy made it thru, cause he is gorgeous! He is from a Sulfur female bred to a Jelly male. Here he is today.

Disclaimer: I do keep several snakes in pairs, and some in groups. However I realize that things can go wrong, and I have to keep a close eye on those groups, to be sure they are not being adversely affected by these living conditions. Also if one happens to eat it's cagemate, it is 100% my fault, and I know the risks in advance!

What's wrong with using CAUTION?!?!?!
