Some may say that the amel offspring of the yellow amel look like Splendida, but that is to be expected considering the WC male that was bred to the yellow amel was from an area of intergrades where both splendida and holbrooki phenotypes can be found. And I guess the WC male was het for amel and the odds got blown out of the water......9 amels and 1 het hatched out in 2011. The het looks 100% holbrooki....2 of the amels look like holbrooki and the others look more like splendida with some increased speckling.....
It's going to be fun breeding all possible genes together next year creating multi-hets.....
I am in need of a lavender pair......I only have a het male that is also het for white wall.....Next year there should be some definite het yellow amels that are possible het for lavender and whitewall.....Then there will be some definite double het white wall and amel and more yellow amels.....
