Yes, we use the term "albino" alot but the morph it is commonly referring to is an Amelanistic.....meaning no melanin (black).
The blood vessels in the eyes are not masked with melanin thus giving them the red color.
But not all "red eyed" snakes are amelanistics. Some snakes have reduced melanin (hypomelanistics, Tpositive albinos and lavenders). These all have a ruby red colored eye. In these morphs there is reduced melanin thus allowing some of the red eye coloration to show through. ----- John Lassiter
