I think it was last April the CDC closed down Rodent Pros mouse production due to a disease outbreak that humans could catch. So for several months the Pro had no mice at all. Then in late summer they began producing mice again but it took awhile to have the large inventory they used to have. So they have probably raised the price to cover the loss from having to destroy their entire mouse production last spring, and start over with all new stock in decontaminated facilities.



I have a friend who buys mice from them, and I gave him my big stash of frozen pinks to tide him over as I raise my own mice and always have pinks. This big pinky shortage came at a bad time in late summer when he was starting his baby snakes.
