Yep,....they were definitely purposely-made hybrid imposter snakes to maket as the real McCoy.



I know a guy that personally overheard one of the main hybridizers of the day tell a buddy of his while laughing about it after he sold them as lavender "Florida" kings at the expo that he personally crossed amel Cal. kings into the floridana as well.



Then there is also the fable regarding several of the well-known hybridizers had both the bogus Cal. king line AND an authentic lavender Florida king line..HAHAA!!!



yeah.......riiiiigghhhht!. I't just that some "looked" more genuine than others did is all..
