In the begining of KS successful husbandry, there were two schools of thought(base methods) One was coined my me, the other by Ernie(poo) Wagner.
But thats not the story. He was the reptile curator at Woodlawn park zoo and I would building some enclosures there, I moved down the street from Ernie.
He as the first to breed Tomato frogs, @ the time, they were something like $1500 each. Well, he successfully bred them and produce tens of thousands of tadpoles. He also gave a talk on how he did it. And he had another fella from the zoo help him(at home) with his thousands and thousands of tadpoles. He had tanks all over his house, and I mean all over. He worked hard to get as many frogs as he could. IF you did not feed them well, the tads ate eachother. Feeding them well means cleaning tanks almost daily. He had tank after tank after tank. All crowded with tads.
The problem was, others followed his lead, but did not worry about the tads eating eachother. What ended up happening is, He produced thousands of frogs, The others only produced hundreds.
By the time the tomato frogs were up for sale. They were worth a few bucks each. And a few means like, $2 each. A drop from $1500 to $2, in a couple of months.
I was also friends with Bob M @ Sandfire dragon ranch when he first produced Whites treefrogs. It was amazing, it went from four or six fish tanks in his garage, to green houses full of frogs, and the frogs were everywhere, millions of them. Kiddy pools full of frogs.
So yes, getting some frogs right, is not the best idea. Could you imagine what it would be like to take care of 50,000 froglets!!!! Best of luck
