I should have specified that the snakes would not be killed to be put into a collection. They would be kept in zoology lab for basic research, display, and possibly breeding. At the time of their death they would be put into the collection, that would be the purpose of collecting a few wild caught, common species instead of buying snakes (we are a small school and I doubt we could get snake purchases funded anyway) That run down was pretty much how I understood it from FL Game and Fish web site.
