is it necessary to split open a mouses head to feed it to a kingsnake?

someone I know said to me that you have to do this to get them to eat mice.......this sounds a bit bizarre to me.....



I keep dragons & geckos (9 of them) Im thinkin maybe he was trying to mess with my head...



I would own a cornsnake in a heartbeat if I could get over the pinkie thing, I just dont think I can do it........I had mice as pets as a kid.
