Permit Dilema

Hey I live in NJ and I keep several sepecies of herps. I do not have permits for them but I want to start aquiring permits to get legit. Is there a recommended way to doing this? I was thinking just starting getting ones for my Argus and Dumeril's monitors then adding the rest of my stuff slowly. Is it difficult to get permits for these monitors? Will they send people to inspect how I house them ..that would be fine but if it was before I got all my other stuff on the permits it may not be so good. How strict are they with the permit laws and aquiring permits for several herps?





Any advice is greatly appreciated.
