Posted by: wildtropics at Tue Apr 12 09:41:26 2005 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by wildtropics ] The Commissioners of the Louisiana Wildlife & Fisheries passed a resolution on Thursday, April 7, that makes it mandatory to have a permit for any snake over 12 feet and most species of venomous snakes, hereafter refered to as restricted snakes. The thrust of these regulations is keeping these snakes locked up when not attending to them. This will be effective in August 2005. There will be a grandfather provision for venomous snakes because of education requirements. You need to have dated pictures, receipts, etc.if you apply for a permit under this provision.
