New to all of this...

I am new to this forum as well as new to the idea of snakes. I would like to tell a bit about us and am asking for some direction...



We have decided that our son can be allowed to have a snake. We believe, since they live so long, that we should adopt an older, more extablished snake. We also want our son to become educated in how to care for one before getting him/her.



We are a homeschooling family with four children and live in East Texas. We also have many pets. The kids are just now getting involved with 4-h as well.



I would like to see this experience grow into an educational situation for our family. I would like to open up the possibility of my son teaching other children about his experiences at some later time.



My son is almost 13 years old and his interest is in owning a corn snake.



Any direction from here will be GREATLY appreciated.
