Finally found a few hours to get out and take some pictures. Here are a few from today. Camera was a Nikon D70 for all of these. All hand held.
Alligator cruising a channel. I wish I could have avoided the long stems in front of his nose. Lens is the Sigma 180mm EX macro, f/8, 1/250 second. I was about 20 yards away.
Dragonfly closeup. This is more typical of photos I take with the Sigma 180mm. SB800 flash on a macro bracket, f/16, 1/200 second. I was about a foot away.
This is a very loud katydid species. The photo was taken a few days ago. The noise in the back yard is deafening due to hundreds of these calling from the trees at night. Sigma 105mm EX macro, SB00 on macro bracket, f/16, 1/200 second.
These last two are a little grainy because I forgot I had the ISO set at 800.
Juvenile copperhead. Sigma 105mm, f/10, 1/160 second, SB800 on bracket.
Anole on palmetto. Sigma 105mm, f/7.1, SB800 fill flash to lighten shadows. The background was in bright sunlight so the lizard would have been almost in silhouette if I hadn’t added fill flash.
