This morning the fog was thick in the early morning. Here a shore bird (species?) forages.

The Cope’s gray tree frogs had finally completely metamorphosed today, check out these cute little guys.

Although there was little evidence of adult softshell turtles, this was by far the best day yet for babies. In all, we found approx 5 or 6 young spiny softshells and probably close to TWENTY baby smooth softshells!
A couple smoothies here:

A spiny (left) and 2 smooths

It was a good day for babies! Only one of these is a spiny, the rest are the more rare smooth softshells.

Polly was finally able to see the adorable baby turtles.

This longnose gar had been disguarded by a fisherman. Check out the teeth on this thing!
