And after getting back about 10 washed out shots of a Praying mantis have decided to get a TTL Flash and off camera cord, im still in the process of getting both.
Yeah, my herp shots fall into two categories - the pre-TTL shots and then the good shots! TTL can make a huge difference.
Im also looking for a Ring Flash for my X-700, if anyone can point me in the right direction.
I am not sure about the flash mount for the X-700, but I would think any older shoe-mount ring-light would work. Try to find one where you can turn off some of the bulbs in the ring. If you let the whole ring flash at once you get very flat uninteresting lighting. OK for coins and stuff, but not much good for herps.
Anyway to the point. What is this part? I found it with my 50mm Macro and akm thinking maybe some sort of microscope thing or something? Thanks guys!
I can't tell by looking at it whether it is a male or female attachment. If it is a male attachment (it attaches to your camera), then I think you might be right about it being a scope adapter. If it is female (it attaches to a lens), then it must be some sort of adapter to attach a Minolta MF lens to some other kind of camera(?). ----- Chris Harrison
