I live in Chicago and unfortunatly its hard to find good spots for backdrops. When I did find him though it was next to a bolder about 100 ft down the mountain from the rock slide I was heading for. I almost stepped on him because I was trying to pick the best path to get to the good spot and I didn't think that a lone bolder was very special. I looked back down at the ground and thought "Thats strange there is a snake next to this bolder" It took me a minute to register that it was what I was looking for. In the mean time I kept walking and for some reason I had to actually stop myself from walking by. It could have very likely have been that we where out until 4:30 the night before and then got up at 7:00 to go hike this mountain or that it was just so strange to see a amazing snake sitting out in the open during the day. Either way i am hooked on Arizona and i hope i can afford to go back again next year. [ Hide Replies ]
