Well you and Todd can come help me look in October if you want.
25 years ago it was a cinch in Bexar county. But everyday that goes by it's increasingly more difficult due to urban sprawl.

The oldest calligaster record I could find in Bexar county oddly enough was from Somerset (SW Bexar county). While it's possible they are there still, I highly doubt it, and believe they are being forced further NE and E out of the county.

The Bexar county population indicated on range maps seems to be a finger extending into the county from the NE, and I've only ever found them in extreme NE Bexar county.

There are many places I just prefer not to go alone. There seem to be homeless camps at nearly every one of my field sites in the county, and the potential for conflict is not worth the risk alone. I much prefer the safety in numbers scenario.
