I was just going to share that I had the honor to meet Dr. Robert Mount(including a signing of his book!!), and Dr. Craig Guyer of Auburn University on Friday.

Dr. Mount and I discussed a WHOLE LOT of herp dilemmas in AL including the status of Lampropeltis t. syspila, the decline of L. g. holbrooki, and getula, and the rediculous classification of our native Crotalus horridus and the infamous CANEBRAKE (A SOUTHERN REAL RATTLESNAKE).......lol.

They both have brilliant minds and were great people to be around. Dr. Guyer showed me the living and preserved university collection of herps, which included many of the specimens mentioned in Mount's writings. It was a very pleasurable experience, and if anyone gets the chance to chat with these guys I highly recomment it.

The reason I met with them was because I am highly interested in pursuing a Master's in Herpetology from AU. They have a great program with worlds of opportunity.
