The holbrooki that inhabit the immediate MS River floodplain along the western part of MS, and the delta region of LA have very prominent crossbars and heavy speckling. The farther west you go into west LA and TX the majority, if not all of them are multispeckled, losing most of the crossbars into maturity. The farther east you go into central MS and north AL they start looking more like nigra, and central AL has some AMAZING snakes, but are seldomly ever, if ever seen in the trade. Anyway, I'll stop now. I just evaluated several characteristics and narrowed them down to a locale along the MS River, but south of the midwest populations. | ||
