In my experience most in that area were very similar to this one, a nice rusty red, but move a little south to Schoharie Co and they tend to be a much more bright fire engine red. He was about to shed in this pic so colour isn't at it's best. He was fairly small, I'd say about 16-18" in length when he was caught in a woodpile in a friend's back yard.
