Hey Bob,
Nice work, they really look great! It looks like you've done a superb job of raising them. The size discrepancy thing is really interesting. We should put the biggest ones together to see if we can breed a truly giant strain of eastern to get rid of all of those unwanted burms and retics out there (LOL).
I kept back one black bellied female from last year and hope to breed her with a male I kept a couple of years back. I wonder if the patternless belly and lower lateral striping is a marker for a mutation like it has proven to be in a couple of strains of ball pythons (pied and ivory)??? We'll soon know, I hope.
This year I hatched a couple of clones of my very wide banded male "Frank the Tank" from each clutch that he fathered. However, it is going to take a few more test breedings to figure out if it is a simple recessive or polygenetic trait. I'm just damn glad it is inheritable. I refer to them as clones because they are nearly identical in individual markings, pattern and color to their dad. A few widebanded bullseyes also popped up this season. I'll get off of my lazy arse and get some pics up soon.
Anyway, thanks for posting such awesome pics and keep up the good work!
Will
