Hatchlings Often Do Not Hibernate

Not uncommon.



I'll bet that as an adult it gets inactive prior to lowland Kings. Mountain Kings are known for shorter activity season, and they are not quite as sturdy for pets.



They are the most attractive, however. Enjoy yours.
